The National Medical Association
Founded in 1895, the National Medical Association is the nation's oldest and largest medical association representing the interests of more than 30,000 African-American physicians and their patients. The National Medical Association repeatedly advocates for policies that would assure equitable and quality health care for all people.
The National Medical Association is the collective voice of African American physicians and the leading force for parity and justice in medicine and the elimination of disparities in health. The National Medical Association is a 501(c)(3) national professional and scientific organization representing the interests of more than 30,000 physicians and their patients.
Established in 1895, The National Medical Association is committed to:
Preventing the diseases, disabilities and adverse health conditions that disproportionately or differentially impact African American and underserved populations
Supporting efforts that improve the quality and availability of health care to poor and underserved populations
Increasing the representation and contribution of African Americans in medicine.
