The National Association of Black Journalists is an organization of journalists, students and media-related professionals that provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide. Founded by 44 men and women on December 12, 1975, in Washington, D.C., the National Association of Black Journalists is the largest organization of journalists of color in the nation.

Each year, the National Association of Black Journalists awards nearly $100,000 in scholarships and internships to college and high school students nationwide, as well as fellowships for seasoned professionals. The National Association of Black Journalists Media Institute provides professional development and technical training for black journalists at venues across the country. Its headquartered on the campus of the University of Maryland-College Park.

Dinner with Barack: Two Teachers, an Army Veteran, a Small Business Owner, and The President

Four Obama 2012 supporters had the chance to sit down for dinner with President Obama: Juanita from Colorado, Ken from Arizona, Casey from Minnesota and Wendi from Indiana. They all brought their stories and ideas for this campaign and our country. Juanita, a retired public school teacher, shared her concerns on public education. The President shared what a typical day in the White House looks like for him, how he does Halloween with his family, and how his father impacted him.
