
Reuben Johnson, a senior, shines in the areas of math and technical studies. He is a member of the National Honor Society and holds a 4.5 weighted grade point average. Since he discovered his mathematical talent in elementary school, he has wanted to pursue a profession steeped in numbers and equations.
While attending his regular high school classes during the week, Reuben spends his Saturdays taking classes at Southwest Tennessee Community College. He has completed several courses including Introduction to Electrical Technology, Microcomputer Applications for Technicians and Engineering Technology Techniques. He is currently enrolled in Electric Circuits I.
Reuben was selected to attend the 14th Annual Middle College Leadership Conference in San Francisco last year. He received a Certificate of High Performance from Project Sweep, a program where students study the local water and environment. He is very involved in student government and is parliamentarian for the Senior Class. He also is the school's official archivist.
He photographs school events and collect photos from students. He then files these items and uses in a PowerPoint documentary that is shared with the student body during the annual Awards Day. He is also a member of the Mock Trial Team and the Student Review Board.
