Mentoring to Manhood was founded in April of 2005 as a non-for-profit program targeting young men ages 14-18 focused on developing an understanding of social responsibility and establishing a place as an effective leader in their immediate communities. Mentoring to Manhood has grown a successful program to develop male youths into "men of excellence" by starting with a group academically, professionally and socially accomplished mentors.
Mentoring to Manhood mentors are the heart and soul of the organization. They run day to day operations, coordinate workshops, perform recruiting duties and lead fundraising efforts. Mentoring to Manhood mentors are attorneys, educators, politicians, writers, bankers and engineers positioned in various walks of life, born to different corners of the world, committed to the success of the Washington area youth and communities.
Dinner with Barack: Two Teachers, an Army Veteran, a Small Business
Owner, and The President
Four Obama 2012 supporters had the chance to sit down for dinner with President Obama:
Juanita from Colorado, Ken from Arizona, Casey from Minnesota and Wendi from Indiana. They all
brought their stories and ideas for this campaign and our country. Juanita, a retired public
school teacher, shared her concerns on public education. The President shared what a typical
day in the White House looks like for him, how he does Halloween with his family, and how his
father impacted him.
