
Marcellis Price, a senior, has been a member of the band since seventh grade. In addition to serving as trumpet section leader, he is responsible for warming up and tuning the band. Although the band has a demanding performance schedule, Marcellis is able to maintain top grades, holding a 3.5 unweighted grade point average. He has been on the Principal's List, the Distinguished Honor Roll and ranks 19 out of 250 seniors.
He received the most improved musician award in seventh grade. In 2007, he was named the Most Outstanding Bandsman. He is also a candidate for the John Philip Sousa Award, the highest honor for band members. He is a member of the Marching Band, the Concert Band, the Jazz Band and the Pep Band.
He is the Student Band Conductor. He has served as a section leader for three years and was named Most Cooperative Bandsman for 2007. Marcellis performs consistently at church functions and for musicals. His leadership skills have enabled him to direct the band, giving the band director time to focus on other aspects of the band's performance.
