Ladera Heights is an affluent African American community. The median family income is $132,824, making Ladera Heights one of the wealthiest African American communities in the United States. Much of the area's appeal stems from the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean available from many hillside houses, as well as its proximity to beaches, Hollywood, Los Angeles International Airport and the San Diego Freeway.
The area was historically mixed until the early 1980s, when the neighborhood became a mecca for wealthy black families. It is said that Ladera Heights is the "black Brentwood" of Los Angeles. Ladera Heights is an exclusive community consisting of large ranch homes with beautiful scenic views.

school teacher, shared her concerns on public education. The President shared what a typical
day in the White House looks like for him, how he does Halloween with his family, and how his
father impacted him.
