
Judge Algenon L. Marbley was appointed by President Clinton to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio on November 27, 1997. Algenon L. Marbley was a partner with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease from 1991 until he was appointed as a United States District Court Judge in 1997. Marbley concentrated in civil litigation when he was with the firm. He litigated cases involving general business litigation, products liability, and employment litigation.
Judge Marbley handled numerous jury trials in federal and state courts and argued before the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits, and the Ohio Appellate Courts. Prior to his partnership at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, Judge Marbley was an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of the Regional Attorney for the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Judge Marbley started his legal career at the Chicago, Illinois firm of Montgomery and Holland, where he specialized in federal and state criminal defense.
