Fortune Burchett, a sophomore, is a talented student who possesses extraordinary writing skills. She currently has the highest average in English in the 10th grade at Mitchell, where she is enrolled in Honors English. She is a leader in the classroom as well as away from school. While successful in her studies, Fortune has maintained a humble personality that allows her to learn from others and help those she sees in need. She holds a 3.87 unweighted grade point average. She achieved the highest grade point average while in middle school. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has maintained a spot on the Honor Roll or Principal's List throughout her high school career. She is a member of the high school track and basketball teams. In 9th grade she was selected Mitchell's Black and Gold Princess. Fortune is a member of the ASPIRE team, an organization of students that encourages student involvement at school and in the community. She also is a youth leader at her church.
