Fort Washington is a upper middle class African American community. The median family income is $114,243, making Fort Washington one of the most prosperous African American communities in the United States. Extending over 14 square miles, Fort Washington is home to a diverse community of families with children, young professionals and college students. More than a third of residents have a bachelor's or advanced college degrees.
Fort Washington residents, send their children to four school districts in neighboring communities. All of them boast a favorable teacher to student ratio, and excellent graduation rates. More than half of high school graduates from the region go on to pursue a college degree.

brought their stories and ideas for this campaign and our country. Juanita, a retired public
school teacher, shared her concerns on public education. The President shared what a typical
day in the White House looks like for him, how he does Halloween with his family, and how his
father impacted him.
