
Chavez Scott, a senior, is an outstanding student and leader. He is currently enrolled in the Business and Finance program and holds an impressive 4.3 grade point average. He is taking Advanced Placement English, Advanced Placement Calculus and Advanced Placement Anatomy. He scored 28 on the ACT. For the past two summers, Chavez has attended prep school.
During the summer of 2006, he attended Carleton College in Minnesota. This past summer he attended Phillips Exeter Academy in Massachusetts, where he studied Sports Psychology and Physiology. He is the vice-president of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Beta Club, DECA, Business Professionals of America, and the National Society of High School Scholars. He also was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students.
Chavez is a third year letterman in football and baseball. He displays his leadership ability on the field and in the classroom. He works with the Whitehaven Foundation Program tutoring students for the Gateway exam and in Calculus. He is a member of Bridge Builders, Memphis Challenge, the Youth Congress, The YMCA Teen Achievers program and the Memphis Rotary Prep programs.
